Prof. Yohay Carmel

Yohay Carmel has established the Ecology and Environment GIS lab upon his arrival at The Technion, in October 2000. Yohay earned his B.Sc. in biology from Haifa University at Oranim, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Environmental Biology from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research covers spatial aspects of ecological and environmental phenomena, including biodiversity, vegetation dynamics, and air pollution. Yohay is the academic director of the Ecological Garden at The Technion, and since October 2006 he is the  chair of the Israel Society of Ecology and Environmental Science.
